This was May 20th...
It's been no secret that Zachary has struggled a bit with his behavior at school. This year though, he seems to have turned a BIG corner and has made MAJOR progress. Prior to this transformation we thought home sh cool was looking like our only option. We were extremely frustrated as we were getting daily calls home, Zach was disappointed in himself after visiting the principal(multiple times) and got suspended for his behavior. However, after much prayer and I think a change of plans on his teachers part, Zach is doing great! Every day Zach gets a note home as a little "progress" report and each day, it has been excellent!
About a month ago Zach came home with a "Personal Success Award" and a $10 gift card from McDonald's from his teachers for his great behavior.

He was so proud of himself and we too were feeling like, FINALLY, yeah Zachary! :)
Then, a couple weeks later we got a letter in the mail saying that Zach would be getting an award at an assembly for positive attitude, good character and responsible citizenship and it was a surprise to him. At the awards ceremony, May 20th, he was so surprised and excited to hear his name called and got to go in front of the entire school and shake the principals hand and receive his award!
It was so cute to see his face when he realized that we were all there :) James and I both went along with Nana and Papa and got to share in his joy!
Way to go Zach we are so very proud of you for trying so hard at school and doing such a great job! We love you!
