We have concrete!

I'm am so excited that our back yard is finally getting done. We've lived here 2 years and 4 months and have had a back yard with dirt! So, as I'm typing the concrete is getting poured. I've been taking pictures all morning long of the progress, so here is what it looks like now. I'll post pictures of the finished product soon! :)

My sister, her husband and kids came up for the weekend to help with everything. So last night we went out just the 4 of us with no kids and it was fabulous. We've never gotten to do that, given that we have 7 kids between us, but the entire Nydam clan came over last night to watch all 7 kids and we went to Macaroni Grill, had drinks, a great dinner (lobster ravioli, Mmmm!) and even dessert. It was nice to have adult conversation for a change without any interruptions.

James and my brother-in-law Erik got everything ready for the concrete and started working at 6 this morning. It helped immensely that Erik works in concrete and knew all the ins and outs of concrete. Here's Erik in true form, he's crazy funny!So, here's what we've been waiting for. Beloved concrete!

Here's Erik doing some of the real work. He brought the foreman from his job, but for some reason I didn't get any pictures of him. This is Jp my other brother-in-law, working hard holding the pumpers hose for him. My other sister Holly and her husband JP and their baby came up to help too.

Can't wait to see it all finished and put our patio stuff on it. :)
